Intermediate
Grades 4-8
The
intermediate curriculum is designed to meet the ever-changing needs
of the student preparing for a college preparatory high school. As students
abilities, strengths and talents are individual, it follows that
placement must be individualized as well.
In
order to help your child reach their fullest potential, our system
of grouping and cross-grading students by ability, instructional level
and mastery of content allows a child to work at an advanced level,
often two levels above his chronological peers elsewhere.
The Emphasis
Major emphasis is placed on critical reading, analytical and reactive
writing as well as higher level math skills including prealgebra
and algebra. Calculators are introduced once students have mastered
basic facts, formulas, and exhibit operational understanding in the
curriculum.
