Ms. Trafton

Ms. Rose Trafton is the principal of Ocean Day School, a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The nonsectarian school "on the lake" in Lakewood, New Jersey offers classes from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.

Ms. Trafton is very proud that the student body reflects the diversity found today in American society. Her philosophy is that every child has something to contribute and she strongly encourages children and their parents to contribute to the schools nurturing educational environment. Dedicated to ensuring that Ocean Day School students are ready to meet the demands of today's and tomorrow's world.

Ms.Trafton has made positive changes to the curriculum. Changes include placing computers with internet access in every classroom, partnering with local educational and business organizations, and incorporating only nutritional foods into the schools lunch and snack programs.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Trafton was a civilian attorney with the United States Navy Office of General Counsel. Ms. Trafton is also an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve having obtained the rank of Captain.
